What Does Spotting Before Periods And Pink Discharge With Mucus Suggest?

I had a sharp pain in my left abdomen the other day while trying to make love to my bf, so we stopped. I am supposed to start my period in 10 days, but spotted for a day and a half 2 weeks before my expected period. Today as I used the restroom, I noticed a faint pink mucousy discharge when wiping...and I don t know what to think. I am not using any oral contraceptives and I have been with my bf for 2 years now.
