20 year old male. Full time student and was working full time a well as part time at the time of my injury. I am very active, before my injury I use to do cardio and weight training 5 days a week. This ended when I had a lumbar puncture 3 months ago. During the procedure, nerves that ran through my left leg where punctured several times. Immediately following the procedure this pain continued for several weeks. Most of the leg pain has subsided but I have an overwhelming intense burning right at the area that was punctured. This has cost me both jobs, and has forced me to switch to all online classes this semester because I can not sit for even a few minutes. I have been in physical therapy for a month now that is progressively making the pain worse. MRI reveals 4 bulging discs S1-L3, potrusion indenting anterior thecal sac at L5-S1, mild stenosis L4-S1 and bilateral facet hypertrophy/ degenerative changes L4-S1. Also moderate bilateral neuroforminal stenosis L4-S1. At L3-L2 mild endplate spurring.
Sorry for the long post I am currently seeking multiple opinions of treatment options. This pain is a constant burning that never stops. I don't even get relief while i sleep the pain constantly wakes me up at night because I can only sleep on my back and staying in any position for to long causes incredible pain. Also every time that I move from a seated to standing position my back pops. Every time I sit up my back pops. Even a slight twist my back will pop right where it was punctured. This popping started the day after the puncture and has increased to at least 50 times a day depending on my activity. The pop I experience inst painful however it never happened to me before and now it never stops so I figure its worth mentioning because I am very curious as to why this happens. I understand that there is no possible way that my lumbar puncture could have caused even half of the issues that showed up in my MRI. However I am wondering how I had all of these issues and was as active as I was in school, work and recreational activity's, while completely pain free and have now been confined to my bed for 20 + hours a day following the procedure?
