What Does The Lung Apices Show Mosaic Appearance On A CT Scan Indicate?

I had a CT scan done to evaluate a thyroid nodule 3 weeks after quitting smoking. The report came back saying the lung apices show mosaic appearance and a number of areas of cyctic change in both upper lobes, almost to the corina ...impression, abnormal pulmonary appearences with mosaic appearance, cystic change, & with pleural parenchymal stranding more so at the right than the left lung apex. My ENT said this was most likely due to inflammation from quitting smoking, but I could follow up with a pulmonologist to further evaluate. Can you give any insight on this?
