Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My daughter had a videonystagmography because she has been having dizziness and vertigo. The result that I received said-This is an abnormal ENG. Pendular tracking shows slight saccadic cog-wheeling smooth pursuit. Optokinetic tracking reduces to a flat line with increasing stimuli intensity. All positional tests are within normal limits. Dix-Hallpike positioning tests are negative for BPPV. Abnormal Optokinetic suggests brainstem disease and abnormal smooth pursuit may be consisten with brainstem or cerebellare lesion. She then had a normal MRI. No can explain why these results are abnormal with a normal MRI and she still has daily vertigo , headaches, neck pain.
