Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have MVP with severe regurgitation My latest echo shows that my regurgitant fraction is 64% and my Ejection Fraction is 68%. My left Atrium shows significant enlargement. My ventricular function is normal, as are all of my Atrial and Tricuspid valves. My left ventricle for now shows normal activity. My internist thinks that my heart is functioning normally other than the MR, and I have a consult tomorrow with a local CardioThoracic surgeon. Given these facts, what might I expect during that meeting about my prognosis and next steps?
