My dad just had a brain scan, and the results said "There are patchy ill-defined hypoattenuating areas in bilateral cerebral white matter, most likely representing chronic microangiopathic changes. The ventricle sulci, and cisterns are prominent for patient's age (80 yrs. old), suggesting diffuse parenchymal volume loss." What does this mean?
