What Does Violent Vomiting After Taking Alcohol Indicate?

I am a 46 year old female who has been a regular social drinker my whole adult life, last 6 months I have been getting violently ill after a few glasses of wine or a liquor drink. I can still drink 4-5 beers no problem but anything else. sick sick sick. throwing up all day the next day. what could be going on? Is there something wrong with my liver?
