What Happens If I Take Ribavirin *without* Food? I Am

What happens if I take Ribavirin *without* food? I am having laparoscopic surgery in a few days. I am not supposed to eat anything from midnight the night before the surgery, but I am currently taking Sovaldi and Ribavirin. I can take the Sovaldi with just water, but everything says that Ribavirin must be taken with food. I have to take that twice a day. Can I just delay my first dose of the day until late afternoon (surgery is as 13:30)?
