What Is Ovule Prescribed For?

I suffer from pcos i started birthcontrol in december 2014 after a 2 month break due to a cyst that i got operated on in march 2014. After the course of my bc i did not get my period and i have taken a blood test and not pregnant either. My gynec said i have an inflammed uterus n put me on zinnat for 5 days and one ovule. But as i read the ovule is only for infetions?? But i was not told about any infextion. I had spotting for 2 days after my bc course and that was it. Is this normal.
