What Is Causing Difficulty In Swallowing?

Hello, I am 67 years old and have had a parithyroid adenoma removed in 2006. Since then I may swallow quickly and chock...not often but when I do it is as if my windpipe tries to close. I usually come out of this and breath deeply. It is quite scarey. It is as if I am double swallowing? Is this a nerve issue?
