What Is Neuroendocrine Cancer?

My mom said she was diagnosed with neuroendocrine cancer, found in her lung, a couple weeks ago. Now she s saying it was dead cancer cells and she s healed. Did she have cancer to begin with? Why would she be diagnosed with cancer if the cells are dead? I m worried for her.
