What Is The Cause And Treatment For High Body Temperature?

Hi, my mother who is 77 years old has had a raised temperature for over three weeks now. She was given two weeks of Amoxicillin but no effect on reducing the temperature. Blood test shows only slightly raised WBC count. What other tests she should do to find the cause and have a treatment to get rid of the temperature?
