What Is The Cause And Treatment For Shoulder Pain?

I hurt my shoulder/upper bicep area around 2 months ago. I got it checked out by a doctor and they sent me to therapy for a suspected sprained bicep tendon. I have been doing therapy for about 6 weeks now and it doesn t seem to be getting much better. I am having throbbing pain in the area and sometimes down near my elbow. I am trying to decide if I should go get a better look to see if i tore it because at first they only did an x-ray. What are your thoughts?
