What Is The Cause Of Ear Infection And Cold?

my daughter has had a cold for 2weeks aswell as ear infection. in the last 2 day days she has also come down with suickness and diorrea. when she woke up this morning her face looks red and blothcy and dosent seem to be going down. any idea what this is?
