What Is The Difference Between Borderline Personality Disorder And Addictive Behavior?

I was actually more information on BPD for my job as a case worker at a rescue mission. But curiosity got the better of me. For about 12 years, I was addicted to Methamphetamines. 8 years ago, surrendered my life to Christ, and have been abstinent from drugs and alcohol ever since. So I took the online test for BPD based on my most honest recollections from 8 years ago and scored a 30. Then I answered the questions honestly for how I have been in the past couple of years or so and scored a 9. Did I likely ever have BPD, or are the symptoms too close to addictive behavior that it would be hard to tell the difference?
