What Is The Life Expectancy In A Person Having Aneurysm Between Kidneys?

My husband has an aorta aneurysm between the two kidneys 6.9cm. He also is COPD but not on oxygen yet, is a smoker. He is having a hard time trying to quit. What is his life expectancy with surgery and without surgery? Alos, could there be complications?
