What Is The Name Of The Medicine That Gastro Doctors

What is the name of the medicine that gastro doctors used to prescribe and still do but for short periods of time because it started causing strange tics in a few people I.e. Sticking tongue in and out etc. it is supposed to move the food in your stomach and gut better to get it on out. I took it for years and so did my mom but I can't think of the name of it. My doctor gave me a few a couple of years ago. Thanks.
