What Is The Prolonged Bruise On The Head Of A Child?

my daughter bumped her head with my son when she was about 2 months old. she got a bruise right below her hair line on the right side of her head. it has not gone away or even faded and she is now 11 months old. our doctor says it will just take awhile, but this seems like it's way too long.
