What Is The Scaly White Patch On The Buttocks During A Fever?

my child has been running a fever at night the past couple nights (101 F axillary). got out of the tub tonight and has a scaly, raised, rough, white patch reddened around it on his buttocks. acts like it itches and it has been spreading over that side of the buttocks for the past 1/2 hr.
