What Is The Sensitive Round Red Mark On Lower Back?

Hi, I have a smooth round red mark on my lower back, which suddenly appeared about 12 months ago, it has gotten slightly bigger over the last few months. It is not raised, but feels more 'sensitive' than the surrounding skin. It is about 1cm in diameter, and dark red. Should I get it looked at?
