What Is The Treatment For Alopecia Areata?

I am having hair loss for about a year and dr said have alopecia areata. But the spots desapeared now and the I am a generalized hair loss. I notice that in the last couple of years I swet a lot in the head. Could the excessive sweting be the cause of my alopecia???
