What Is The Treatment For Alopecia Areata?

I have lost my 3rd patch of hair due to alopecia. I think it is due to stress, I can barely breathe I am overwhelmed with stress. The first patch I was treated for, after having a bald spot with no growth for 6 months I received cortisone shots regularly. Weeks later, hair grew back..I continue to lose hair and the spots are on the center of my head so there is no hiding them. I don't have medical insurance and can't afford to be treated again (it was 125$ every time I was treated). I lost my mom to meth and am having a hard time functioning in general, is it possible to go on disability and take some time off and qualify for state insurance?
