What Is The Treatment For Cough And Rib Cage Pain?

Sunday I started coughing, I coughed so much my ribs hurt. Mucus was running down my throat but not out my nose. Last night I started sneezing and couldn't stop. When I lay down i wheeze and can cough up loose flem, but it doesn't come up all the way, so I can't see what color it is. Is this some kind of flu?
