What Is The Treatment For Fever And Sore Throat?

my 12 year old son has had a headache off and on for 36 hours, slight temperature, slightly sore throat. saw GP this morning an diagnosed viral bug. Has now developed pimple like rash over limbs. Still has headache when painkillers wear off, bit pale, otherwise ok. Any advice be appreciated.
