What Is The Treatment For Headache , Sore Throat And Cough?

I am 54, 5'7 1/2" and weigh 194lbs. After 2 months of tolerating the sensation of a piece of food stuck in my throat near my adam's apple, 24 days ago, I experienced 3 days of headache, sore throat, and a slight earache. After 2 days of rest, I returned to work with only the sore throat and developed a deep, unproductive cough. Finally went to Dr.who presribed arizthmicin and advair inhaler.Last dose 3 days ago,sore throat is gone but I am coughing hard and deep with little production. Dr. called in Lexapro now taken for 2 days. Cough still pretty unproductive. Any thoughts, my chest is really sore from coughing.
