What Is The Treatment For Itchy And Painful Belly Button?

Hi, I had an umbilical hernia repair in June 10 within 3 months it came back. I'm booked in for another go next month but the last couple of day's the pain has got worse & my belly button became really itchy. It's now weaping some sort of discharge and it smells - what does this mean? I'm also getting really bad indigestion, is this related? many thanks
