My husband,33 years, is working in Middle East now for 3 years now.He originally hails from India(Kolkata).
After 1 year, suddenly one day he felt severe itches all over his body. Scratches led to red patches with unbearable burning sensation.Slowly these patches got smudged with the adjacent patches causing entire body to turn reddish.
He went to a doctor who gave him an injection(steroid). The patches got fainter ,but margins remained prominently red after 2 to 3 hrs. After 12 hrs the skin was completely normal as if nothing had happened.
He had also prescribed following medicines:
-tab Loraday1 -10 mg( thrice daily)
-tab Gupisone -5 mg (thrice daily)
Back home in Kolkata, around May 2009, he had these patches again. He himself wanted to apply ice cubes all over his body.We found that it did work and this did subside to fainter marks next day.
Just another day we visited dermatologist who suggested that it was an allergy due to change in climate & temperature fluctuation(while going in and out of AC lab into manufacturing plant).
He asked to avoid red meat, fishes, tomatoes, eggs, sour fruits and high preservative content food.
He prescribed medicines and an ointment. Blood tests were normal.
He went back and patches did not come back.
However this February end , he again developed the patch and it went exactly the same as explained above.
The dermatologist there suggested it could be due to his high blood pressure(130/90 sort of in relaxed condition).
He prescribed following medicines:
-Tab Funzol -160 mg( once a week for 4 weeks)
-Tab Loramax -70 mg (once for 4 days)
-Tab Sinallerge-10mg(once daily for 10 days)
-Inj. Allerfin -10 mg(one daily – 8 already taken)
-Elica Cream-30 mg
And asked for a complete blood count report.
