What Is The Treatment For Lower Back Pain And Leg Pain?

Hi. V good friend of mine is worried about collections of blue veins in her feet that don't protrude but have become more obvious/coloured recently. She says she gets pains shooting up her legs & sometimes into her lower back, & that the pain comes from the veins. She was worried that it's damage from IV using many yrs ago, but I told her I thought that she would've had to of used recently, that she wouldn't have something start up 10 yrs later. Am I wrong? And could the veins be causing the pain? If so, why?
