What Is The Treatment For Painful Hair Growth Under The Clitoris?

I am 27, I ahve always had normal menstration cycle aside from very painful periods as a teenager. I have no significant medical history or ongoing problems. Approx 7 years ago I had some hair growth under my clitoris hood. It was very very painful and through both embarrasment and the terrible pain I eventually pulled it out. Off and on it has been mildly irritating and sometimes painful. Hoowever not sustained pain just something that comes and goes, possibly in tuen with my periods though I have not logged this. Recently it has become more painful and itchy. I am concerned that either another hair is growing back or that there is some sort of infection under to hood?.... I have searched the internet and come across other women with this problem. Can you please advise?
