What Is The Treatment For Profound Deafness, Tinnitus And Otalgia?

My brother is suffering from profound deafness. Doctor wants us to do BSER Assessment test. I have a concern that what if her BSER assessment show normal but, she is still suffering from otalgia, tinnitus, and deafness? What can she possbily have? And also, are there any deafness out there that a test can point out. What is hysterical deafness?
