What Is The Treatment For Severe Hair Loss?

I am 27 male. I have been loosing a lot of hair for 3 years now. The first year, I tried some home remedies which did not work. Second year, I tried a trichology specialist. Nothing worked out there as well. I am not sure if this will continue the same way. Is there any sure shot way to retain the hair I have? Generally, I very healthy. I do have a regular stomach disorder. CAn you recommend any special diet and medicine for me which can prevent hairloss and may be boost growth as well? I live in bangalore. Should I wash my hair in bolied water only?
One more detail. My father was bald. Guess that is not good news.
