What Is The Treatment For Severe Pelvic Pain?

I am 25 years old, I went to the ER the other day because i was suffering from really bad pelvic pain they told me i have PID and they gave me antibiotics, should my husband get tested for anything also or is it safe for us to have intercouse again, i forgot to say that they told me that i must have got it when i got my IUD since there is no other issues that might have caused it.
