What Is The Treatment For Skin Rashes In A Baby?

Hi, my 8 month old has had a rash on and off for about a month now. She did go to the pediatrician who said he believed it was part of a cold virus she developed at daycare. The rash mainly shows up on her face (cheeks) and is the in form of raised whelps with redness around them. We thought it may be an allergic reaction to apple juice however she had rash today and no apple juice? Any suggestions?
