What Is The Treatment For Skin Tag Near The Bum Hole?

I have a skin tag right next to my bum hole. It doesn't hurt but do I need to be aware of it? A couple of years ago I went to my doctor because It was sore and it was bleeding a couple of times but then stopped. He wanted to look but i was embarassed. He just gave me some cream. Could this mean anything?
