What Is The Treatment For Unusual Menstrual Discharge?

Im 36 years old in a stable relationship and for two months now, I've had a mid-menstrual discharge that looks slightly red and it makes me think I might be starting my cycle but I don't. This month more so than last, the smell is putrid as if there's something rotten in my insides. I'm getting a bit nervous. Please help!
