What Is The Withdrawal Procedure For Venlafaxine?

I have been taking 300mg of venlafaxine for a couple years and as it seems to not be working as well for me anymore, my Dr and I have decided a change in medication may be best. He is recommending a ween off of venlafaxine to brintellix. A fast ween of 3 days of only 2 75mg tabs of venlafaxine, 1 day off and directly starting brintellix 10mg the next day. (See him again 3 days after switch.) Is this a safe method? I have been on and off venlafaxine at different doses for quite a few years. (Would be completely off meds when I was pregnant. Felt fine during pregnancy w/o meds, but would soon be back on after.)
