What Is To Be Expected During Recovery From A Broken Wrist?

Hi, at base of thumb when I bump there I get blood below the skin. Nice dark patch that takes days to disappear. I broke my wrist and had surgery in September. This just started happening. I do take blood pressure meds. I am healing extremely well for the seriousness of the break (5 places). While doing this surgery the dr also took care of an issue with de quervain tenosynovitis. Is this something I can expect during this healing period? Is it something my dr needs to know about? Thank you
