What Precautions Should Be Followed Having A Stent In The Kidney?

Dr. I am required to undergo major surgery for kidney. I have a stunt inserted, & been informed that it cant remain forever. Either whole or the part of my kidney that is not functioning is required to be removed. Can u tell me what precautions & opinions I am required to take?
