What Requires Increase In Dosage Of Accutane?

My daughter has been on Accutane for 4 months with a clear complexion for the last 6 weeks. Her doctor now wants to increase her dosage from 40 mg to a total of 60 mg taken twice daily for the next 2 months. My daughter weighs 115 lbs. What is the point of this? It s expensive and I know it can have many side effects. Is this protocol unusual? thanks, Linda M (concerned med tech mom)
