What Should I Do About Irritation And Itching On The Skin After Using A Skin Cream?

I put the cream on this afternoon and had a shower before I went to bed. Shortly after I went to bed the spots that I put the cream began itching so bad I had to get up and check what the side effects are. It was so iritating I could not sleep. What should I do?
