What Should I Do If My Gynecologist Suspects Lichen Sclerosus And Prescribed Clobetasol?

I went to the Ob/gyn for intense itching. She said it could be lichen sclerosus or dermatitis, but was leaning towards the lichen sclerosus. She really made it seem like it's not a big deal, but upon doing some research, I think it's something to not shrug off. She prescribed me Clobetasol and told me to use it twice a day until I felt I could go down to once a day. She said that some people have to use it for months, but didn't give me any more direction. I have a yearly appointment with her in December. Should I wait until then to discuss it with her again or should I see a dermatologist?
