What To Do After Bioscrew Protrudes Through Skin?

I underwent an ACL repair arthroscopic surgery on my left knee in July last year. After a couple of months, one of the bioscrews used was protruding and now it has breached the skin and become infected. What should I do (like have the screw removed altogether or any alternative ?)
