When I Inserted My Tampon I'm Almost Positive I Inserted

When I inserted my tampon I'm almost positive I inserted correctly but now I have a stinging feeling when I sit or stand and I'm not sure why. I also wore one to sleep but took it out later in the night Bc I just started wearing tampobs and feared it would overflow or something in my sleep
