When Does Birth Control Pills Become Effective To Prevent Pregnancy?

I had strep right around Christmas time and was put on an antibiotic for that, and two weeks into January I lost my birth control packet. I stopped taking it for about a week and a half and started with a new pack after my period, which was 1/16. I had unprotected sex on Saturday night, and am worried if the pill was effective then.
