When Is Pepcid Prescribed?

ER Dr. last night told me to take Pepcid when I got home. But that is an off label use, as the reason I was in the ER was for an allergic reaction to something I ate. I was given a shot of epinefrine, a Clariton tablet, and an albuterol breathing treatment. Why Pepcid?
