When Is Pregnancy Test Advisable While Having Delayed Period?

Age - 27, Height 5 feet 3 inches, weight - 65 Kgs, Regular periods after my marrige in Dec 2008.
Just thought of seeking some clarification. Today is 6th day after missing period. I had checked for pregnancy using the kit two days back and it came as negative.. When do I need to test again for pregnancy confirmation.
