When Will The Abscess In My Groin Heal?

Hi. I have an absess in either groin. Dermatologists have tried treating me with long term antibiotics and now thet are trying acretin. Neither seems to be working and I am told that I may need surgery. Each absess is has the volume of about half a golfball. How long would I be in hospital after the operation and how long would it be before I was up and about again?
