Which Treatment Is Better Co2 Laser Or Cosmo Peel To Treat Scars On Lips?

i have superficial scars and some darkness around my lips and on upper cheeks
i went today to adermatologist and she told me that i have deep scars ??? how can she call it deep while its not obvious unless you saw it closely? how can we differentiate between superficial and deep scar?
she adviced me to go for fractional co2 laser but im scared to go through it. im thinking of choosing crystal peel or cosmo peel
