Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
While in the hospital for about a week, my mother took a turn for the worst. She stopped breathing and her heart stopped and she had to be revived. I felt the need to take a 2 week family medical leave of absence from work just to be with her overnite in the hospital and during her recovery at home. I presented the paper work from my employer to her treating doctor who is her primary and heart doctor over a month ago and he refuses to fill out and sign the forms. He claims that their was not a justifyable reason for me to be at the hospital witlh my mother overnite since the hospital staff tended to her needs day and night. I felt it was a serious need to be at the hospital with my mother due to the fact that the care she was in a critical state of health. I could loose my job over this. Is their any thing I could do since my mothers doctors being difficult and uncooperitive?
