Why Am I Getting Spotting 4 Years After Menopause?

I stopped seeing my periods approximately 3 to 4 years ago and over the past year I have been going through menopause with th hot flashes, irritability, dryness etc. However it all stopped last week when my nipples started to hurt just like it was prior to me getting a period. Now I am spotting just like the start of a period. Can this happen?
